The Lord Jesus is present in the Holy Eucharist truly and sacramentally: Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity. As a result, Catholics consider prayer before the Blessed Sacrament exposed on the altar to be a special privilege and opportunity. At St. Peter’s parish there is solemn Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament every Monday to Thursday from 6-7pm, together with the opportunity to go to confession from 6-6:30pm (Monday to Wednesday). Everyone, Catholic and non-Catholic, is invited to pray before Our Lord in the church at that time. Sheets with the prayers and hymns for Exposition and Benediction are available at the back of church.
At 6:40pm, Evening Prayer will be said in common using the Shorter Christian Prayer books, which are provided at the back of the church, together with sheets describing how to use it. A general description of this liturgical prayer of the Church may be found here and here.
