The Lord Jesus is present in the Holy Eucharist truly and sacramentally: Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity. As a result, Catholics consider prayer before the Blessed Sacrament exposed on the altar to be a special privilege and opportunity. At St. Peter’s parish there is solemn Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament every Monday to Wednesday from 6-7pm. On Wednesday there also is the opportunity to go to confession from 6-6:30pm. Everyone, Catholic and non-Catholic, is invited to pray before Our Lord in the church at that time. Sheets with the prayers and hymns for Exposition and Benediction are available at the back of church.
On Wednesday at 6:40pm, Evening Prayer will be said in common using the Shorter Christian Prayer books, which are provided at the back of the church, together with sheets describing how to use it. A general description of this liturgical prayer of the Church may be found here and here.
