Remember attending Easter Sunday Mass in front of your computer? Trying to figure out the least awkward way to receive Communion with a mask on? Discovering that parish meetings on Zoom might not be so bad, saving you from having to go out after supper?
As the last chapter in the history of St. Peter’s first 200 years, a pandemic is not what anyone would have chosen. But the parish proved resilient, resourceful, and generous. In-person worship, with abundant precautions, resumed quickly. Technology made a lot of activities possible. Outdoor social gatherings, even in less-than-ideal weather, proved to be a lot of fun. And parishioners continued to reach out to neighbors, donating hundreds of dollars, and bags and bags of groceries, to programs like SOME, Holy Name food bank, McKenna Center’s food pantry, and the Christ House meal program.

A big thank you to Fr. Gary, Fr. Brendan, and the St. Peter’s staff for working hard to keep us safe while also connected and functioning as a parish. And to the countless parishioners who helped keep things going, God bless you.
