Scouting
Scouting programs offer parish youth well-structured, adult-supervised opportunities to try new things, provide service to others, build self-confidence, reinforce ethical standards, and promote a sense of responsibility to God, country, and community, often in an outdoor setting. Most importantly, scouting is fun!
Scouting has a proud, generations-long tradition at St. Peters, beginning with the chartering of Boy Scout Troop 380 at the parish in 1910, the same year the Boy Scouts of America was founded in the United States. We are also the proud home of a Girl Scout troop, a Cub Scout pack, and since May 2019 (following reforms within BSA to create special opportunities for girls), a BSA troop for girls.
Scouting at St. Peters is an important part of our youth ministry, but membership is not limited solely to our parishioners: all youth in our community are welcome and encouraged to join.
