Dear parishioners & visitors,

Despite challenges that occur in the United States to our freedom, and certainly our religious liberty has been challenged at times over the years, today we can still be thankful for our freedom and our free will that we possess. A free will that enables each of us, individually and collectively, to pursue the long-held truths given to us by God, our Creator.

As we approach celebrating our country’s 250th Independence Day, let us give thanks for our freedoms. Let us give thanks for the thousands of brave men and women who gave their lives for our freedom. And let us give thanks to Jesus Christ, who gave his very life for our ultimate freedom to attain eternal life. I share with you a prayer for Independence Day:

On this Independence Day, I am reminded of all those who have sacrificed for my freedom, following the example of your Son, Jesus Christ. Let me not take my freedom, both physical and spiritual, for granted. May I always remember that my freedom was purchased with a very high price. My freedom cost others their very lives. Lord, today, bless those who have served and continue to give their lives for my freedom. With favor and bounty meet their needs and watch over their families. Help me to live my life in a way that glorifies you, Lord. Give me the strength to be a blessing in someone else's life today and every day of my life, and grant me the opportunity to lead others into the precious freedom that can only be found in knowing our Lord, Jesus Christ.  Amen

Yours in Christ,

Father Dan
